30 Day Challenge - Day 5

Day 5 - A picture of your favourite memory

It is hard to pick just one favourite memory.  I have so many.  Summer holidays with my family, years of church camp, great school memories, going to Quebec, going to Romania, the past year and a half is a great memory all of its own.  But, since I don't have pictures from the far away memories, I'll use a more recent one.

Being a bird girl
Being part of Seussical was an amazing experience.  It made me step out of my comfort zone and try something that I never thought I'd do.  I hope to do another musical again.  There have been several factors as to why I haven't, but maybe this year will be the year I get to do another one.  We'll see.

30 Day Challenge - Day 4

Day 4 - A picture of your day (really...a picture?...maybe a few)

1.  I stayed in this picture for as long as possible :)

2.  Then I sat here and played Solitaire for most of the morning.

3. Then I had lunch with Shannon before I ventured out into the -80000 weather to go to here.

4. To finish the day, I watched this movie with Katrina, Kaia, and Jocelyn.  I can't really describe it.  Kinda good, sorta weird and a little creepy.

Happy Family Day!!

30 Day Challenge - Day 3

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from your favourite show

I don't watch much TV, but I am a huge fan of the Big Bang Theory.  It is such a funny show. It is the only sitcom I actually watch every week.  They should feel blessed to have me watching :)

30 Day Challenge - Day 2

Day 2 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.

Amber
Amber and I have been friends forever.  The first time she stayed at my house was the summer we were 9.  She came for a whole week.  That was a big deal in 1990!  After that, it was friendship for life.  I stayed at her house one weekend and we got to go see "Rhythm n News" even though we weren't old enough for Super Camp.  Many years at camp, we shared a room and always achieved the "Cleanest Cabin" award.  We're pretty amazing.  Anytime Amber and I would get together, we'd have hours of Tetris Wars, lots of laughter and plenty of heart-to-hearts.  We've been friends for over 20 years now.  That's pretty outstanding.  I am so grateful for Amber.  We've been through a lot together.  It's too late to get out of this friendship now!  We're stuck with each other for life.

30 Day Challenge - Day 1

*I saw this on facebook and thought I'd give it a try as a blog.  That means a lot of blogging between now and March 18!  Let's see if it can be done.*

Missing you...

When you live with people almost 24-7 for 16 months, you really get used to going about your day in a certain way and you get used to having those people with you regardless of what you are doing.  I'm going through chaperone friend withdrawal.  I miss them a lot, in fact. It seems that everything I do, brings a memory of my friends from tour.  For instance, every single time I use my microwave (and I use it a lot, I'll admit it), I think of Mel.  In fact, I imagine her hiding in my bedroom as I microwave and yelling to ask if I'm done yet.  Every time I go shopping or start organizing, I think of Alesha.  Every time I play a game or lead rehearsals I think of Amy.  Every time I get a hug, I think of Chelsea.  When I need a hand or some advice, I wish Vic was here.  My sarcasm is lost without Amy and Tony.

Ah, life on the bus.  As hard as you were sometimes, I sure liked you.

I will seek...

*I found this in a box.  I don't remember why I wrote it, but as I read it, I knew it was as true now as it was when I wrote it.*

I will seek excellence, unity and creativity.

As a Christian:
  • I will seek to show Christ's love more through actions then through words.
  • I will seek to do God's will and not my own first and foremost
As a Teacher:
  • I will seek to create a space where students feel free to create, to express their opinions and to grow as individuals.
  • I will seek to encourage, correct and inspire in a way that will create both value and responsibility.
  • I will seek to impart knowledge and to demonstrate good work ethic.
  • I will seek to always be prepared and to be able to give my best to my students.
As a Friend:
  • I will seek to make time for the important people in my life and not let busyness overrule relationship.
  • I will seek to be a confidant, an encouragement and to know when to be serious and when to have fun.
  • I will seek to make "strangers" feel welcomed whether in my home, church or place of work and to speak words of life to them.
As a member of the Allan family:
  • I will seek to honour my family, to always show love and to be willing to sacrifice personal time for them.
  • I will seek to be a role model for my nieces and nephew and to love them unconditionally.
As a Musician:
  • I will seek to improve but to not lose my love for the amazing beauty that music provides.
  • I will seek to use my talents for God's glory and to not be afraid to share my gifts.
